What's in a Name?

Our name is a combination of wyrd, an ancient Anglo-Saxon word for destiny, and wordsmiths. So you might say that as writers we are crafting our destinies with our words. Lofty, no? "Wyrdsmiths" also nicely shortens to "wyrdos," so we’re not likely to get big heads.

Eleanor Arnason

Eleanor is the Tiptree Award–winning author of five novels and more than thirty short stories. Her novel Ring of Swords won a Minnesota Book Award and was acclaimed by the New York Review of Science Fiction as one of the best science fiction novels of the 1990s.

Tate Hallaway

Tate is the author of the Vampire Princess series, as well as five novels in the highly addictive Garnet Lacey series. Her most recent book is Almost Final Curtain (NAL Trade, 2011).

Bill Henry

Naomi Kritzer
